Hey everyone !

This is my first post on this blog after December 2008. Lots of things have changed during this time. I stopped blogging to cope up with studies. I won't say I succeeded like I should have - but I tried, which is important, right ?

I still get around 200 - 300 visitors a day and tons of comments every week which is an amazing feat for a blog which is laying dead since December 2008 ( nearly 2 years ! ) So thank you my readers, a big thank you :)

You all are the sole reason I didn't sell my domain and I am planning to do loads of stuff on it in the near future.So please stay tuned !

Hello Humanoids. This is the last time i am writing a blog post ( most probably) ,and why is that so ? Because i am quitting internet and yes this most probably is the last post on A Blog with a DiffeRence.This is the toughest decision of my life, i have never felt so bad in my life.

I got my P.C. in 2001, before computers i was heavily into the SNES and Genesis kinda gaming, nearly finished all my games. We shifted to a place which didn't have internet at that time and yeah at that time Dial -up was the only way to surf the net. So my dad bought a Dial up and i started discovering internet in 2002 . After 2 months, i realized that i couldn't understand anything. Then i never ever touched my modem for more than 3 years. In 2006 i discovered Blogs, i had no idea of what a blog is but yes i did understand that i can get a near perfect website for myself and that too for free ! I created a blog called - Rahul Rules 2006 on Blogger dot com and soon after stopped posting cause i had no readers and i had no clue of how big this world of internet is.

The year was 2006 and we were shifted to a new city or frankly a rural area, surprisingly the moment i got shifted to a rural area i cam face to face with broadband and since then i am spoilt.I began multi-player gaming the moment i got my broad band connection and then few weeks later i realized tha internet isn't just about helping gamers. I became an internet surfer which made me come across various giant websites like Google, Yahoo, WWE dot com ( yeah i was that dumb to go to wwe dot com : ) In the year 2006, Indian T.V. channels were busy showing cartoons or anime like Bey Blade and Pokemon ( I was a huge anime freak, still remember watching DBZ in late 90s ).Then suddenly i thought of playing some games, i Googled Pokemon online games and then i came across the website which changed my life. It was called Pokemoncrater dot com, PokemonCrater made me who i am on Internet today to be honest. Pokemoncrater was one of the fastest growing websites of all time and i was one of those players who was dedicated to be in the list of Top 100 which was later expanded by the site admin - Aaron. I remember tales of people hacking each other's account to get as many pokemons as possible, was so much fun ! But this wasn't the reason i got to be an internet fan. A link on the home page of PokemonCrater called - Chatroom .

Due to my curiosity i clicked it and BAM ! I went into the deep, dark and weird world called IRC. IRC was the weirdest place i have ever seen on virtual world. I saw people typing letters as fast as they can, all of them were trying to make themselves look smart in the virtual world, it was chaos for me. Then i came across channels, people were trading pokemons, they were also playing trivia based on pokemons and what not. The things that surprised me the most were what we generally refer to them as - Bots.
I had no idea of who a bot is and how it was made and how it functions, i was always in wonder why the bot doesn't reply to my private messages, well never that.

I became an active user of Pokemon Crater slowly, had tons of Pokemons to look after , spend 2 hours a day to get the pokemon i wanted to train. Also, my presence at IRC Chatroon increased day by day, i encountered various people from different relegions, countries and most importantly thoughts. Some came to the chatrooms for discussions on pokemons while others came there to make new friends. I was busy doing the both .

The first time I encountered channels was in late 2006, i remember a user called bobo who was a great pokemon trainer invited me to be his trading partner and i remember he made me an OP for doing great job. Now in 2007, I got excessive invites from various channels due to my increasing popularity as user called " wwe " , hell yeah.

Tons of people have asked me the secret of my username - weemundo. I used to be famous on IRC by the name of wwe which i later changed to "wee" due to my immense hatred towards WWE and i was a big fan of a cartoon character called Raymundo , people loved called me wee, so i just added "mundo" to it to give it a japanese feeling and lucily people loved it !

Then i met users like Flaze and Storm, Storm taught me various things about IRC and something called mIRC. While, Flaze taught me how to make a channel successfully and thankfully i did learn and that too quickly. I then had my own channel called " #wii_ps3" and soon after stopped coming to PokemonCrater, instead i just went to the chatroom and did all i can to get readers to my blog .

I got involved in mIRC scripts, i became a script designer thanks to Storm and a fellow Indian g33k d1g1t or Sandeep Kamath. I had my own trivia bot which attracted more visitors than anybody in the channel list ( except channel called #XC owned by Benny from Aus and Staff Channels ). I was on top of the world on the server.

This was the time which spoiled my life. I was a topper at school till 8th grader, always stood first in the class scoring above 90 % each time. But in 9th grade i degraded and in 2007 ( we shifted to Bhopal, Capital of Central India ) ( 10th or X grade ) i completely lost my touch with studies, i spend some 6-8 hours a day on IRC, i didn't realise that : I became an internet addict. The year 2007 was the worst year in my life, i wasted the whole year on IRC,no studies, no outdoor activities. I was now a part of internet addicts .

I struggled at school and due to my bad performance i was scolded back at home, my life was miserable. Then something extremely shocking happened, PokemonCrater was about to be shut down according to the Admin because he was about to go to college. This shocked all the users and when it did happen I lost most of my visitors ( also i would like to add the staff of server irc dot axpi2 dot net had some trouble and pokemoncrater chan is now on IRC dot lucidchat dot net, I still remember you all Axpi2 users, you always will be special to me ! ). Then in January 2008 i was highly pressurized by my peers to do well in studies and after shutting down of PokemonCrater i had nothing else to do . I then prepared for my National Level Exam, I completed my preparation in a months time and results were satisfactory enough .

I came to Internet back in April 2008, this time i went to two amazing and life changing placed called " Chip India Forums " and BlogCatalog Forums . These are two of the most amazing placed you'll ever see on the internet .I used to spend lot of time on Blogging on Rahul Rules 2008 and helping people at Chip India and of course getting help . I learned basics of blogging at BlogCatalog where i met amazing bloggers.

I slowly but steadily grew at my knowledge of Internet and it technology . I later on started discovering stumble upon Rocket dock icon developer,Digg, Tech Crunch , Mashable , Read Write Web, Softpedia and lots more. I know had an idea of how technology is shaping up and through Chip India i came to know various indian tech geniuses who helped me tremendously.

I started A Blog with a DiffeRence in April and it was a quick hit, i received Page Rank 3 in 1.5 months and visitors were pouring in. The feeling of appreciation gave me the spirit to move ahead . At one time i had 11 k visitors a day, yeah that's ahuge number.But most importantly i took benefits from great bloggers like Pro Blogger, Chris Brogan and Andy Beard, they proved to be a source of immense knowledge. I owe them a lot .Thanks to all your support and view my blog was in the list of Top Blogger who are aged 21 or less - Thanks !

A week back everything was in place I felt like a pro internet user after joining Twitter and keeping in touch with great start ups, but then i had my exams and i yet again disappointed my parents. I felt frustrated at myself, since all my concentration was on Internet .But then this thought went away

I felt as if i am being too casual about my future.Three days back again i performed badly, now i am tired of being under estimated. I have to show everyone that i am not just the normal boy you'll see roaming around. I have shown by potential in the past. I have performed great at Co curricular activities, sports and academics in the past, why can't i do it Now ? This question has been the concluding factor in my decision to quit Internet.

Internet is like my second life, i have given time to others on internet more than my relatives and friends, its making me isolated these days. I am not saying being on Internet is bad, i am just saying that excess of everything is bad, you should just concentrate on one thing and aim high.

I'll be out of this world of Internet to start a new life with a broader aim on 1st January 2009. I have set high aims and will strive for it .

You all have been very kind, the kind of appreciation emails, tweets and IM messages you all have sent me will always be with me. I have tried to be helpful in every way possible, i hope i haven't disapointed ya'll .

This most probably is the last post on this blog, but i'll come on Twitter so you can catch me up there .

So here were go this is my Goodbye to Internet, i will be back here when i grow older.

Hello Humanoids. I am trying to stay away from twitter as much as i can but its next to impossible for me to totally stay away from it. Due to the time i spend on Twitter, i come across various websites,blog and startups.One such website ( Twitter related website) is called Happy Tweets.

So what is Happy Tweets all about ?

Happytweets is a measuring stick for how positive, or happy, a particular Tweep is. Enter the Twitter username for you or one of your buddies, click the "get happy" button, and you'll find out how happy your Tweets are

Oh kay, but how do they calculate it ?

Actually, i have no idea, but most probably it depends on the words like " happy, smile, joy, etc " and maybe it could even include some smileys. The website owner still has decided not to tell us the particular words that could make this user stat possible .

What if the owner tells us How the stat is calculated ?

There are two sides of this . The positive side is that we finally can understand which words and symbols are included in this stat calculation, he needs to make this process transparent . The bad side is that once the words and symbols are disclosed people may start using it and will increase their " How happy you are " Score.

What else does this site have ?

Nothing much. It has a right sidebar which has 10 Most - Happiest tweeps, 10 least - Happiest tweeps ( :/ )

[ How To ] Make an " Under Construction " Page for Blogger / Blogspot !

Hello Humanoids. I am back after surviving 5 days without internet ! I will be VERY busy till the end of this month, so i wont be able to post or update regularly.

This post is for bloggers who use the blogging platform Blogger.There are various customization options available in Blogger but due to lack of HTML knowledge of most of the bloggers,these options prove to be useless.After How to add Stripe Ads in Blogger [ hack ] post, I have come across a simple post that could help many [via Ariane : ].

Most of blogger users change their templates regularly ( including me ), but during the process of changing templates,exporting importing blogs,forwarding to a custom domain, we usually don't tell our readers that our blog is under going construction, we sometimes leave a blank page or sometimes we get a blog not found error ( a normal error during custom domain process ) . So how do we tell the readers that the blog is under going reconstruction ?

Here is how :

Note - Remove the red inverted commas, wherever you see them .

Go to your Dashboard . Navigate to Layout - Edit HTML .

Then find the tag

<"body">

Then Paste this code after the above tag :

<"span class="item-control blog-admin"">

Below above code, add the following code :

<"center><"img src="URL_of_the_image"/"><"/center>

Replace :

URL_of_the_image

With any image that would be appropriate, for example : this image . Yep, you have to paste the whole URL of the image.

Once you are done replacing,

Find the tag :

<"/body>

Just before the above tag, add the following code :

<"/span>

If you still have any problem, i have taken screen shots so that you can recheck if you have made a mistake :

Hello Humanoids. Another Christmas Related Post, just 5 days remaining for Christmas everybody must have been busy preparing for the celebrations. But some or maybe most of you must be spending your Christmas day on your Computer as well .

So i just stumbled upon a Desktop Buddy called Christmas Tree 1.6, this tree is a desktop buddy ( remember the Bonzy Buddy on Windows 98 ) yes similar to that, it stays on your desktop and is animated like most of the other Desktop Buddies.

You can do loads of stuff with the desktop buddy Christmas Tree :

It can run on Windows XP / Windows Vista
You can Choose a Christmas Tree from several skins.
There is a Countdown of the Days until Christmas, New Year and Julian Christmas.
You can Listen a nice Jingle Bells sound sample every hour.

Hello Humanoids. Twitter is a great place to stay in touch with your friends all over the world, its also a great source of information, it kinda acts like a Feed Reader in some cases.

Getting back to the title, so HOW MUCH time do you Spend on Twitter ? You must have been like " i don't count, duh ! ", others would have been like " I am always on Twitter " and some people who think in a different way would have been like " Interesting, i would love to know how much time i spend on Twitter ! " . Good news " different people " , Tweetwaster comes to your rescue .

Before writing further, the above question can be better written as : So how much time do you spend on Twitter ? It was written because it matched the content.

I was closely following the website developer's ( @itcn) updates about his upcoming website, i knew the idea was pretty cool, it shows you an estimate of how much time you spend on twitter .

Hello Humanoids. Firstly i need to tell all my readers that i will be offline from 15th of December to 21st December so i will be unable to reply to comments, email queries, etc . Christmas isn't far away so i am coming up with yet another Christmas related post, this isn't much of a traditional post, it one of the wallpaper post. I have made several wallpaper posts ( you see the search box on the right column, yeah up there : search - wallpapers and you shall come across them ) .

I found this collection on Mininova in the form of a "legal" torrent, so i thought of downloading it as seeders were surprisingly in a great quantity. But as you know, people have tendency of " not seeding " resulting in no use of the torrent .

So what i did was, i uploaded it at mediafire and now its available for download !

P.s - I even made a download button in 10 seconds thanks to a random website which is no where in my Firefox history ,

This is how you make a video greeting card on Youtube :

Navigate to Greetings - Youtube . Select any of the videos which you would like to send . Remember , you can also send your video too , on the right column all your videos are displayed so its easier for you to select the video which would be better as a Christmas greeting . You can do the following with the uploaded videos as well :

Select a Christmas Theme

Then click on Send this video as a greeting card . Complete the signing in process and then you will come across this page :

Just click on Send this Greeting and you are done ! :)

You also have the option to record ( quickly ) your Christmas Greetings via web cam and send it to your friends !

[How To ] Add Twitter to your Signatures - Email , Forums and Blogs !

Hello Humanoids. I have real tough time keeping up with my blog due to my schedule these days, but i do keep in touch with world of internet thanks to my Google Reader and Twitter !

Email signatures is used by most of us, its just like our IRL signature on the internet, its our identity .But signatures are mostly used by business professionals while others tend to mess their signatures with stupid things like - Random HTML scripts which is too bright for the eyes , but now with Tweeterbars you can add Twitter to your email signatures , you just need to put the HTML code in the signature box and you are all done to send show your twitter updates to the receiver.

You can similarly make signatures for Forums, Forums have BBCode enabled ( almost everywhere ) , so thee shouldn't be any problem as the tweeterbar code is available in HTML , BBCode as well as URl form .

Watch all Youtube Videos as Default in High Quality : Including 720 p Videos ! [ Script Update ]

Hello Humanoids . You must be aware of tons of greasemonkey scripts available for Youtube , such as Youtube Enhancer, random color changing scripts and lots more , but i have always been a user of this script which can run Youtube Videos in High Quality ( this script can even run 720 p ! - that's freaking clear man ) .

And yes , if you are in doubt if there are videos which are True 720 p resolution video on Youtube , then clear your doubts : There are hundreds of them over there on YOutube, you can have a glance at the list created by code developer here .

Firstly , How do i Install the script ?

To install this script , you need to have Firefox . To install this script , you need to install an addon called : Greasemonkey . Once you install the addon , go to this link and click on Install . Rest shall be self explanatory .

So what all can this script do ?

To see videos in high quality , there is an option called " View in High Quality " below the Youtube Video or you can add fmt=22 or fmt=18 you could make it high quality , sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't . But now , with this script you don't have to click a damn thing : Just install this script and you get every video in high quality plus you get to see HD video without refreshing the window as the script uses AJAX .This script was recently updated , hence i am writing about it .

But i have a slow internet connection. Is there any way to stop this script from loading the 720 p videos ?

Yes , just go to the Grease monkey console and Edit it , you shall come across an option called : use HD , who's value will be True , just change the value to false.

By the way it defeats the purpose of the script , i recommend that if you have a good internet connection : Use this script.

This script is doing wonders for me and i am loving it , watching all Youtube Videos in High quality makes watching video a great experience !

[ How to ] Remove Search Bar from Embedded Videos [ Youtube ]

Hello Humanoids . Today , Youtube released many updates , they got some layout changes , they also updated embedding code with variety of resolutions but with the embedded feature came the Uber lame feature called : Search bar . This bar just sticks to the video and totally spoils the frame .

But there is a way to Remove the search bar now thanks to Seedlifestyle .

What you need to do is this :

Paste the code in your post editor from Youtube dot com

Now , just add ;showsearch=0 after the url inside the embedding tag

For example : the url inside the embedding code is : http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=29Ro5gPi6OU&hl=en&fs=1 , and if you have a code without : &amp,hl=en&fs=1, then just add ;showsearch=0 after the url itself . Thanks Jim :)

What you need to do is - Just add ;showsearch=0 after the url, now the result will be : http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=29Ro5gPi6OU&hl=en&fs=1 ;showsearch=0 .

And Poof ! The search bar is gone .

Hello Humanoids . Sorry yet again , but i have exam tomorrow but i have little bit of time today so though of posting this right now .

Nokia today launched N97 which was exclusively featured by Scobleizer on his blog, i was highly impressed by the looks but the Design was totally ugly, especially the white one, made it look like one of the Cheap Fake " Made in China " Mobiles, sigh .

Hello Humanoids . Its been long since i did a post : thanks to my ongoing exams ( i have a four day leave now ) and i shall try to do as many useful posts as possible .

Windows 7 , is the next Windows OS from Microsoft , After the success of Windows XP Microsoft gave us Windows Vista but it is way to buggy , resource hogging and costly , unless you are a pirate , but now Microsoft has come up with the OS that could bring back their lost glory . So why did they bring out Vista ? To make us comfortable with the UI i suppose .

Anyways , There are tons and tons of ways to convert your vista into Windows 7 and i have successfully modified every piece of my vista to make it look like Windows 7 , a friend of mind recently asked me to share the changes and mods i used , so :

Here is how you can Transform Windows Vista to Windows 7 without using any customization pack or resource hogging softwares :

Firstly and most importantly to do any of the following you need Tune Up Utilities , since all the themes are needed to be patched but its not free ( trial ) , but there is a freeware called VistaGlazz which can patch up the themes for you .

Windows 7 Theme for Windows Vista : Deviant Artist called giannisgx89 is famous for making Windows 7 theme for Windows Vista .

The two themes that are nearly perfect are :

The War of Operating Systems ! [ A User Review ]

The War Of The Operating System's

Posts like Windows vs Mac vs Linux are quite common now a days especially with the launch of Ubuntu 8.10. People prove how one operating system is better than other through benchmarks, but today we will not compare any benchmarks like other. This post will tell you which Operating system is better than the other on pure usability terms.

Installation

So first lets talk about the Default looks and installation procedure of the 3 OS'es. The OS X Installer looks great and so does that of Vista. Ubuntu's installer is quite dull and not at all pleasing to the eyes. In terms of ease of installation, Vista and OS X are quite close to each other, Ubuntu's installation is also easy but if you select Manual Partitioning then you have to select the “root” and the “swap” partition which the newbie's may not understand. After that installation is fairly quick and simple and Ubuntu even detects your other Windows Partition and imports your documents and files as well.

Ease Of Use

All operating systems are user friendly to use, all of them has some nice features like the expose feature in OS X, the panel in Ubuntu where you can add some useful quick launch buttons. The Spotlight in OS X is present in Ubuntu as well in the form of Deskbar. Vista has the powerful start menu with Search features which is extremely useful as well. Installing Applications in Mac is quite easy and so is it in Ubuntu thanks to the Add/Remove and Synaptic Package Manager but if you get hold of an app which is not there in the Resporiteries then you have to compile the app so that you can install it which is not so easy. Users are quite happy with the way applications are installed in Windows Vista so no complaints regarding that. Installing apps in OS X is also quite easy, just drag n drop the installation file to the applications directory and the application would be installed but one problem with OS X installation file is that they are quite heavy. For Eg if Opera for Windows weighs 6Mb then Opera for Mac OS X weighs around 14Mb. So people with slow internet connections should keep this in mind.

In terms of resource usage Ubuntu wins! Vista needs 2GB Ram to function properly and Mac needs 1Gb RAM to function properly while Ubuntu can function smoothly on a system which has only 512Mb RAM. Aero effect of Vista is also quite resource hungry and the same effect can be applied in both Ubuntu and Mac quite easily! In terms of installation of themes, Ubuntu and Mac are quite user friendly and you can install themes by “drag n drop” while in Vista you have to patch your system files to install themes and they may very well corrupt your system files thus forcing you to reinstall Windows. Hardware compatibility is something which we cannot ignore. Here some people may say Mac OS X wins because everything works out of the box in OS X but we must keep in mind that Mac runs on selective hardware, unlike Windows and Ubuntu. Windows as well all know has the largest user base, and thus the lack of drivers for all kind of hardware's even in the latest version of Vista is something which we must get used to. We cannot blame Microsoft for not developing drivers for various hardware's, its the fault of the Hardware Company. Microsoft unlike Apple does not make drivers for various hardware's so its senseless to blame Microsoft for it, and there are many work arounds if you cannot find the driver for the latest gadget you got and some of these workarounds end up in giving up the dreaded BSOD. Ubuntu's condition is also the same in terms of hardware compatibility. Consider my PC as an example, Ubuntu 8.04 just refused to run on my PC while Ubuntu 8.10 runs flawlessly and it even detected my 22” LCD!

The Final Word !

Ubuntu, OS X and Vista all have been stable for me, but performance of Vista degrades significantly with time while the performance of Ubuntu and OS X more or less remain the same. To keep Vista running at its peak you have to maintain it regularly by defragmenting your partition and for that we need to use 3^rd party software since the inbuilt Windows Defragmenter is just useless. Also major thing i would like to point out is that i really did not like the Dock of OS X for multitasking, its a big hindrance. It significantly slowed down the speed of my multitasking, other users may not agree with me here especially the Mac Fanboy's but then again thats my own personal view. OS X is good for developers, its not that useful for normal users. I was completely blown away by the softwares available for development in OSX. But one must keep in mind that nearly 99% of the apps available for Mac is paid and thus owning a Mac can be a costly affair. Windows will and always have the largest user base just because people have got used to it and only a revolution can change this. Ubuntu is one of the best kept secret to the public.

One big reason alone why i would say people to shift to Ubuntu is the lack of virus, now a days everyone's PC's get infected with viruses and even the best of the antivirus is unable to remove it and it creates a lot of trouble for the users.

In the end i would say that there is no clear winner in this war of the Operating System's, and there wont be ever! This war will go on and on, you, your grandchildren and their grandchildren all will witness this never ending war and in the end it will benefit us the users!

Hello Humanoids .I have just three minutes to finish up with this post , I thought of writing about this for my readers who are twitter friendly .

I have been using the same Twitter background from the start and i am totally bored of it , today i tried making one for myself but couldn't come up with good idea so decided to leave it as it is . Most of us don't know photoshop or can't edit the photos . But now you don't need a stupid " wanna be cool " backgrounds , please - its O.L.D .

Wouldn't that be cool if your Flickr Images are shown as your background and they get updated hourly ? Yes , that would be very cool .

So how do you do that ?

Simple , Fill the details at Flickr My background website : You need to fill your Twitter account details and validate your Flickr account. Remember to Enable background images ( you do that by going to Profile -> Design - > Background )

P.s - I have tested it and its working great :)

P.p.s - i was the first one to find a bug in this app but now its fixed and ready to rock and roll.

And Voila you are done .Sit back and let others enjoy your backgrounds !

Youtube adds new features for Embedded Videos !

Hello Humanoids . Developers at Youtube are working hard to please their users and the result is positive . According to Youtube : 44 % of their videos are viewed as embedded videos on websites , blog , etc , in other words embedded videos form a huge part in increasing viewership for Youtube . I think they realised the importance and now they have launched few but very important updates or you can call them major updates .

From the Youtube Blog ,the newly added features are :

High-quality start images (thumbnails) – Before you press play on embedded YouTube videos, the thumbnails for the video will be presented in high-quality. We're pleased with the results – let us know if you agree.

Search in embeddable player – At the close of an embedded video, along with the usual recommended videos and URLs, a search box will appear. Not only will you be able search from within the embedded player, you will be able to watch videos through the same window. That's right, you can search all of YouTube from the comfort of your favorite blog, news, or humor page.

Integrated video annotations – Annotations enable video producers to incorporate text information into their videos, create choose your own adventure-style stories or add links to any YouTube video. People watching videos through the embedded player can now join the fun.
Integrated closed captions – Back in August we started allowing video creators to add captions to their videos. Closed Captions are now available in embedded videos like this one:

I am very excited , since i post a video in every two week in the form of an embedded video and now i can make sure my viewers can get all the benefits and all the features of video presentation they get on Youtube's website .

Firefox 3.1 gets beta and features update [ Private browsing and Tab Preview ]

Hello Humanoids . Firefox developers are unimaginably busy , they keep getting updates every week , but hey do this for us ! We all demanded private browsing feature which has recently been implemented in Internet Explorer 8 beta and is embedded ( default) in Google Chrome and now we have private browsing in Firefox .

Lets take a look at some of the features of Firefox 3.1 beta 2 ( Firefox Minefield ) with some screenshots :

Google Reader Icon and link : The Google Reader link has now been added to Firefox , the icon is located at the bottom right of the web browser . The Google Reader icon will lead you to your feeds at once. This feature will be very useful for people who use Google Reader frequently. Here is the screen shot :

Tabs Preview and New Tab Icon : A feature which has been taken form the Opera Speed dial and the new Google Chrome , bu what's different is that the tab preview doesn't open in a new tab , a small window pops up and displays the tabs which are opened . What's great that it includes a Search button and what's bad is that you can't arrange the tabs plus there is no way to close the tabs preview window and you have to click the tabs preview icon to close it and you can't even move the preview window which makes it difficult to read even though the tabs preview window is aero themed .

Another new and a useless feature is The New Tab Icon , its basically just an icon where you click to create a new tab , nothing new .

Private browsing : This feature was totally expected , since its there in every browser present : why would Firefox ignore it ?

To go to Private Browsing : Tools - > Private Browsing .

This will lead you to this window :

Click on Start Private browsing , this will result in restarting of Firefox and and your old tabs will get saved , you can get them back by doing the same old ticking off the Private browsing mode ( in Tools ) .

I don't think there is need to tell you what Private Browsing mode does , so yeah thats all about the new Firefox 3.1 beta 2 ( nightly version )

Firefox Minefield or FF 3.1b2 is fast and i mena lightning fast , maybe because of no extensions , addons and themes . Will be great to see a a public beta release from Mozilla as early as possible .

Hmm now , this the dashboard . You can see if your tweets are queued or sent and remember to sent time zones if you want to avoid bad tweet timings ! The dashboard link shows you how many tweets are left to be sent and what's the next tweet to be sent .

This is the scheduling area , you can set the year , the month and the time in AM And PM , so you won;t have any complaints whatsoever . You can set time via the Now! link .

This is the main thing , just type your scheduled tweet and click on set status and you are all done! You can also tweet the moment you type it , seems fun , right ?

A look at Bumptop Beta 15 ! [ IMAGES ]

Hello Humanoids . My P.C. again went for some servicing and i wasted 500 INR yet again, but there were no alternatives . Right , so i opened my email box and received email from Bumptop since i signed up for a beta ages ago , its still an invitation beta and they have asked not the share the invitational code , so don't even ask about it . Though , its gonna spread like wild fire when someone not smart enough leaks it out .

I have 15 minutes with me to write this post , so what i am thinking is instead of writing a review - (which i would love to) , I should post some screen shots in the form of a slide show , so you can at least have some idea of how Bump Top is turning out to be .

Popular website Make Use Of gets Hacked !

Hello Humanoids , this really is a sad news but a popular website called Make use of has been hacked by a person called Ali Ferank .

According to Inqisitr ,

Make Use Of - The site, which typically features Web site reviews and software tips, now takes you to a parked page at a registrar called NameCheap. If you look at the Google cache for the home page, however, you’ll find a message redirecting you to a temporary BlogSpot.com account with an explanation.

In a nutshell, the site’s staff says the hacker gained access to the Gmail account tied to their GoDaddy domain registration. He then contacted GoDaddy, they say, pretending to be the owner, and asked for the domain to be transferred. The Make Use Of team believes the entire process took him less than an hour.

According to the Blog Post of Make Use of , the hacker cracked the 15 characters long password , Oh gosh .Read the letter sent by the hacker to the owner of Make Use Of :

Hi there,
I said it very simply and very easily !

Deal or not ?!
You own the domain I get the money...

The staff at Make Use Of have rejected to pay even a single cent to the hacker , brave enough and a good decision . The website is currently parked at Name Cheap and NameCheap isn't going to instantly hand back the domain to us before an investigation sorts out all the facts but to their credit, NameCheap does agree to lock / disable the domain for the moment so Ferank is unable to move the domain again. This gives the GoDaddy legal team time to investigate the whole incident and begin the procedure to recover the domain.

Hope they catch the hacker and get back their site to function again . Wish them luck and stay updated with their blog .

Hello Humanoids . Its been like ages since i wrote a website review , i last wrote one for Jack Supit and since then he has like 40,000 + visitors a day , thanks to me , right ? Nah , he worked hard for it , you deserve it mate !

I stumbled across this website and its front page struck me at once . The front page has options to navigate to reviews of various laptops of reputed companies . Left column is made up of a very effective Trusted Laptop brands which is a great idea and surprisingly Apple leads the list of Trusted Laptops as voted by the users . I read in a mag a week back that HP laptop was the most trusted Laptop brand , but opinions vary , don't they ? I wonder when somebody would bring in the best Laptop poll !

Then there are brief list of reviews done recently by the users , you can navigate across then pretty efficiently .

What is it all about ?

Laptop community has many reviews of laptops from the user community. You can write your own review and show it to others so that in many ways you can help others decide whats good and whats not !

Auto Translate Captions in Youtube Videos !

Hello Humanoids . Captions , I really don't love the idea of captions , totally spoils the video interface with people spamming their links all over the video .

Though , one very useful thing is that If you want to see a foreign ( alien ) language video , you won't understand its language right ? So you'll just move over and watch another video , but with Captions the user who uploads the video can add text over it so that you can read it , but wouldn't that too be in foreign language ? Yes , but now Youtube Developer Team comes to the Rescue with Google Translate feature in Youtube !

Google Chrome gets an update to third beta ! [ MUST UPDATE ]

Hello Humanoids . Chrome is the newly added web browser from Google who initially achieved success but then started loosing its touch due to tons of errors .But the developer team is back with a great beta .

I am writing this post , after i stumbled upon the Google Japan Blog , surprisingly people from Google Japan officially announced it yesterday , but Google ( U.S ) still hasn't updated it , that's why only few people know about it !

How to update Google Chrome ?

Open the web browser , and navigate to Customize and Control Google Chrome icon ( Top - right ) and then go to About . Here Google Chrome will automatically tell if you need an update or not and yes this time you do , so click on Update and it shall be updated pretty quickly.

I thought , i could fit in these screen shot if you don't mind : These are meant to show Chrome About before the update and Chrome About after the update .

First impressions ?

There hasn't been any physical changes , it is the same old Google Chrome and has no added features . Though , the performance seems better ( after i used it for half an hour ) , the speed is great and has less stability issues and i tried the recovering tab feature , which worked .

So what are the changes ?

Here is the list of what exactly did change :

Security Update

This release fixes an issue with address spoofing in pop-ups. A site could convince a user to click a link to open a pop-up window. The window's address bar could be manipulated to show a different address than the actual origin of the content.

Security rating: Medium. This flaw could be used to mislead people about the origin of a web site in order to get them to divulge sensitive information.

Disclosed by: Liu Die Yu of the TopsecTianRongXin research lab.

Top Issues Fixed

Scrolling with laptop touchpads now works.

Changes to how things look and work

The New tab, New window, and New incognito window options moved from the 'Control the current page' menu to the 'Customize and control Google Chrome' (wrench) menu. Thanks to Szymon Piechowicz for the patch.
'New incognito window' always opens a new window. 'New window' always opens a new normal window. Both options are always visible on the wrench menu.
The spell checker works on text input fields and underlines misspelled words. You can now add words to the spell check dictionary so they are not shown as misspelled (right click on a misspelled word and choose 'Add to dictionary...').
The download behavior for files that could run programs (exe, dll, bat, etc.) has changed. These files are now downloaded to unconfirmed_*.download files. Google Chrome asks you if you want to accept the download. Only after you click Save is the unconfirmed_*.download file converted to the real file name. Downloads that you never confirm are deleted when Google Chrome exits.

I remember when i downloaded the second beta of the Google Chrome , there were lots of problems , it was difficult to type in forums and editing , copy and pasting the urls from the url bar was a difficult task , but now all of this changed and this version is a MUST UPDATE .

Hello Humanoids . Linking to a specific time in a video is a must for every video uploading website , for example Snotr has it , but surprisingly Youtube didn't have one but now they do !

This means you can now not only link to a YouTube video itself, but you can also link directly to a specific time within each video.

According to the Youtube Blog :

To create a deep link, append the following to the end of a YouTube video URL: #t=1m15s. This says to link to the time 1:15 - you can replace the numbers before the 'm' and the 's' with anything you like.

As an additional bonus, if you mention a specific time in a video comment, e.g. "haha 1:14 is funny", this will become a hyperlink. Viewers can simply click on the time and the video will automatically jump to the point you are referencing

I hope they make similar feature so that we can link to the comments as well , You can't have everything or can you..?

Viswanathan Anand is Still the World Chess Champion !

Hello Humanoids . Chess is one of the greatest games ever made in my opinion and Indians tend to do well at this game and this man - Vishwanathan anand proves it every single time his is playing the game .

World Champion Viswanathan Anand retained the world crown by taking another draw with challenger Vladimir Kramnik of Russia in the 11th game of the world championship match in Bonn on Wednesday.

Anand, who led 6-4 after ten games, needed only a draw in one of the two remaining games to emerge champion once again. And he did the victory dance . Though his fans were bit worried when Anand lost the 10th game , if he hadn't lost it : he would have won it right there , but thats ok . The final score was 6.5 - 4.5.

Hello Humanoids . First of all apology for not writing any post for past 6 or 7 days , my P.C, had some problems , but now its back and yeah I am back too !

By the way , I am writing this post for blogger/blogspot users . The Pro users must be knowing this , but more than 80 or maybe 90 % ( as far as i know ) of the blogger users don't have meta tags in their blogs . I have seen tons of post where people want the description and the title on Google Search exactly as they have it on their site , but they don't get it . Reason is simple - You don't have meta tags on your blog !

You must be wondering how to add meta tags in Blogger , its plain simple .

Here are some technical aspects of Meta Tags and keywords from Our Blogger Templates :

While there are lots of factors involved in building quality blogs that can draw huge traffic in, having simple things right in the beginning is as important. One of this simple thing is getting your blog indexed properly with the right description & keywords to optimize search engine rankings (known as Search Engine Optimization or SEO).

To get information, search engines use automated software agents called spiders, crawlers, robots, or bots to collect the a few words from a site or blog (typically the URLs, blog name, and blog description, and maybe some words in the early part of sentences or paragraphs) that will later be used as keywords to index the blog.

Because you cannot be certain which words are taken as keywords pertaining to your blog, it's most likely that your blog won't be indexed properly in search engines - in the worst case, your highly relevant keywords might not even be used to index your blog. When this happen, searches on keywords relevant to your blog may have your blog buried at the far end of the list of thousands and millions of pages. What a waste!

To have a control of what is read by crawlers on your blog to be indexed, you have to build what is called a META tag - basically a bunch of words that makes up the most relevant description and keywords of your blog. If the META tag exist, this is what the crawlers will read and index and get displayed on any searches related to your keywords.

So how do you make Meta tags and Meta Keywords ?

Firstly , you should know if your template is a html template or an xhtml template , if you are using the traditional blogger template then you have the html template , but if you downloaded it from a site recently then you have a xhtml template . Remember.

Add the Codes you receive accordingly to your template , by reaching Edit HTML from your Blogger Template ( Layout ) .

Add the code above the <"/head> tag ( without the inverted commas of course ) and presto !
You are done !

Lack of customization is one of the biggest problem faced by most of the Google Chrome users unlike the highly customizable Firefox , you can make your Firefox look like Chrome or make it look like Safari ! Today , i googled up for some Chrome plugins to make it look like Firefox or even Safari !

India's Mission to Moon : Step 1 Successfull !

Today , on 22nd October 2008 at 6:22 A.M, to be precise , the rocket PSLV-C11 or Chandrayaan-1 was launched by a team of India scientists of ISRO at ISRO owned Satish Dhawan Space Centre .It took 18 minutes for the space craft to reach the Earth's orbit , everything went as they planned.

Is the Chandrayaan-1 ( the spacecraft ) going to the Moon directly ?

Chandrayaan-1 will orbit the Earth till November 7 and on November 8 it will start its journey towards moon .

At the earliest possible opportunity the spacecraft that will orbit 100 km above the surface of the moon will drop its Moon Impact Probe (MIP) which will land on the lunar surface carrying India's flag, among many scientific instruments. After that, the spacecraft will also activate its cameras and other instruments on board.

Chandrayaan-1 will orbit the moon for two years. It carries 11 experimental payloads, five Indian and six from abroad - the two from NASA, three from the European Space Agency (ESA) and one from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

What are the objective (s) of this mission ?

"Chandrayaan-1 aims to achieve these objectives through high resolution of the moon in the visible, near infrared, microwave and x-ray regions of the electromagnetic spectrum," mission director M. Annadurai told IANS.

A three-dimensional atlas of the lunar surface and chemical mapping of the entire lunar surface are the other objectives of the mission.

I saw a news channel few minutes back and a reporter asked " IIT ( which is the MIT of India ) has no participation in this mission , which is unthinkable as the brightest brains of India are from IIT " , the reply came " Because they are just worried about getting the money , they just missed the ultimate satisfaction of making history " .

Kudos to the scientists who spent days and night on this mission , they must be pretty satisifed as they spent most of the time for the welfare of the country , its because of people like these a country progresses .

My verdict :

Fantastic software , totally loved the light version . Imagine kicking the icons with your Recycle Bin ! Fun , eh ? Though the biggest problem is lack of customization . In other words , you cant add or edit any damn thing except rotating the icons, while if you spend a buck on them you get tons of interesting features and this is where Bumptop gets ahead of this application , tragic .

Another bad point is the shiny blue background , darn my eyes .The graphics don't look so cool , this must be an old software but the graphics aren't so bad , but hey we are in 2008 , buzz .

And remember one important thing , the activation key can work on 3 PCs simultaneously !

Remember to have at least 512 MB Ram on your Vista and 256 on your XP otherwise its gonna be tough running this thing !

Hello Humanoids . This month will be full of cricket , scores and records shall fill the newspapers in India , which without a doubt leaves little space for other sports .

Why am i writing a post on Sachin Tendulkar today ?

Because , Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest sports personality ever here in India and since cricket is like India's favorite game , there is no way i shouldn't have written this .

Sachin Tendulkar just two minutes ago broke the record owned by Brian Lara for maximum number of Runs ever scored in Test Matches , which makes him the King of Batsmen in this Gentleman's game .
One more fact : While Tendulkar took 152 matches and 247 innings to reach the landmark, Lara accumulated the runs in 131 matches and 232 innings.

Oh , back to the question , umm what happened was the viewers at the stadium gave him standing ovation , there were firecrackers which blew continuously for more than 5- 8 minutes and his team members were laughing at the amount of firecrackers they spend on this guy every time he makes a record. Sachin did his traditional " Thank you everyone ! " thingie with his bat .

Sachin sure does a round of applause from everyone who watches Cricket . Great job , Sir .

So , is there anyone who can beat this record ?

Nope , people may be optimistic about Australian Player Ricky Ponting's chances of overcoming Sachin's feat but its somewhat Impossible .

The White Tiger wins Man Booker Prize 2008 !

Hello Humanoids . It's a great news and a moment of proud for people living in India because Aravind Adiga just won a Booker ( Fiction ) for his critically and commercially acclaimed novel : The White Tiger .

So what's the story all about ?

Born in a village in heartland India, the son of a rickshaw puller, Balram is taken out of school by his family and put to work in a teashop. As he crushes coals and wipes tables, he nurses a dream of escape - of breaking away from the banks of Mother Ganga, into whose depths have seeped the remains of a hundred generations.

The White Tiger is a tale of two Indias. Balram’s journey from darkness of village life to the light of entrepreneurial success is utterly amoral, brilliantly irreverent, deeply endearing and altogether unforgettable.

Create Self Destructing Notes with Privnote !

Privnote is a free web based service that allows you to send top secret notes over the internet. It's fast, easy, and requires no password or user registration at all.

What are its features ?

Just write your note, and you'll get a link. Then you copy and paste that link into an email (or instant message) that you send to the person who you want to read the note. When that person clicks the link for the first time, it will see the note in her browser and the note will automatically self-destruct, which means no one (even that very same person) can read the note again. The link won't work anymore.

You can optionally choose to be notified when your note is read by leaving your email and a reference for the note.

Hello Humanoids . The month of October is a month of festivals and holidays ( yipee ) for people here in India . I don travel much due to my tight schedule but i did get some time and i went to a Navratri celebration.

So this is what Navratri basically is :

The festival of Navratri lasts for nine nights.According to the Hindu calendar Navratri celebration begins from the first day of the bright fortnight of Ashwin.This festival is fully dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga Mata and her nine forms. These nine days are celebrated in all over the country with an ardent zeal and enthusiasm. The devotees all over India celebrated the last three days with much solemnity, calm and joy. But in the tenth day, Dussehra or Vijayadashmi is celebrated to commemorate the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana.

There was a big ground there in which people did a traditional dance called " garbha " and " dandiya " , but blah who cares ? I went to that place to eat variety of food from all over India , actually i did eat a lot .

But the most special thing about the place was the Paan waala stall , you must be wondering who actually is a paanwala ? He is basically the person who makes a paan , now dont make me tell you what paan is , sigh .

Paan (a juicy betel leaf stuffed with condiments) is very popular in India .

So what they did was that they gave us paan not in a normal way , but they did give us in a special way which is pretty uncommon , unlike the tradition long moustached paan waalas .

Actually the video i captured shows how people tend to enjoy their life in the festival days , people forget every tension thats been with them from the past , its just about celebrating and yes doing something special always ! This video also reflects a part of our Hindu tradition . And yes you get to see not just the paan making process , you also get to see the special effects ;)

Dragon Ball the Movie : A look at the Leaked Trailers !

After watching this trailer , my thoughts became reality . This movie is the worst movie based on anime , THIS MOVIE Hasn't DONE ANYTHING TO BE LIKE THE CARTOON !

Goku looks so bad , the blazing fire from Picollo looks like an air wave ,the dragon ball doesn't have the traditional stars on it , , the characters made have horrible casting - None of the characters look similar , their clothes ,special effects, their way of expression look like just another Kung fu movie :-(

If the teaser is how the movie will be, then this movie does NOT seems like the original DragonBall… I hope that it brings better things but the teaser disappointed me a lot

Im not going to complain…but eh. Looks pretty sweet, but Im not blown away. I think the music and dialoge was kinda meh but other than that this movie looks badass. I have a feeling that the haters will now hate this movie even more. But thanks for posting Adam, Im suprised it hasnt hit SHH yet.

i dont know about yall but as a fan of the series im a lil disapointed at the trailer. i hope the movie is better. this doesnt look bad though. but to be honest when it didnt have sound it looked better. but i guess well see right. one thing that was exciting to see was the fireballs it looks like it gonna be true to the series fighting wise. i just expected this to be better since they minused krillin roshi pervertedness and a storyline worth listening to.

anyway time for some actual pulling apart of the trailer…
when we first see roshi he has a beard, im thinking this is a flashback or where the movie will start. And that is where we see the other dragon temple members.
Goku recieveing his gi, I might be wrong as I havnt seen the episode in a while but didnt roshi give them there gi’s in a suitcase as well just before the martial arts tournament?
then at 23 seconds we see goku and chi chi standing next to each other beofre goku looks at the eclipse. I think this seen is gohans funeral.
at 37 we see a fight with scenerary that looks like it was taken straight out of the anime, looks fantastic, the person in the air is bald, It is possible that it is piccolo.
Then we go to bulma looking threw a hole in the wall, followed soon by yamcha with a drill, most likely related. It would seem that they are trying to break into somewhere probaly to get a dragonball.
Also in the second trailer we see bulma coming through some doors with guns out. the room looks futeristic, possibly piccolos hidout?
Then we see some energy bolts from roshi, piccolo and explosions, a montage of some of the action.
So I think from this trailer we get quiet a bit of whats going to happen in the movie.

People, seriously, I really cannot understand how you still like this movie after seeing that mediocre teaser. I think you either self-conditionated into liking it or you actually despise it but you haven’t enough courage to admit it after all those months of avid bootlicking.
I’ve following the progress of this movie from the very beginning because I’ve always wanted a Dragonball movie. A nice one, actually. I’ve tried hard to see hope along the increasingly crappy advances. But THIS is not the thing I was waiting for. For those of you, with that nonsensical “realistic movie” argument, I have several things to say.
Dragonball’s core appeal comes from its weirdness. Dragonball is not only about people flying and shooting energy and fighting lightning-fast, but the overall setting, unique characters and odd things happening all the time.
I can show you how wrong you are. Most of the Dragonball features you called “silly” or “unsuitable for a live-action film” are already on American cinema. Actually, the majority of the films I’m about to reference are very respectable productions:
- Flying human beings: The Matrix Trilogy
- Unrealistic fights (including an aerial fight): The Matrix Trilogy
- People with odd hair color/haircuts: The Fifth Element, A Clockwork Orange, countless others
- Tailed human: Nightcrawler from X2
- Giant monkey: Peter Jackson’s King Kong
- Talking animals: Men in Black films, Narnia films, The Golden Compass
- Aliens come to Earth in human-sized pods: Spielberg’s War of the Worlds
- Giant manned robots: Spielberg’s War of the Worlds
- Anthropomorphic manned robots: Aliens, Iron Man
- Dinosaurs in modern times: Jurassic Park films
- People riding dinosaurs: Star Wars films
- Flying land vehicles: Star Wars films
- People shooting energy from his hands: any Sith
- Anthropomorphic dogs: Chewbacca!
- Old green man with pointy ears: Yoda!
- Green man with antennae: Greedo
- Green man: Abe Sapiens from Hellboy
As you can see, those movies, particularly the Star Wars franchise, are very successful. But Dragonball, with all its rich mythology of wonderful beings and events, has been straight raped in front of you, loyal fans, to favor this awful piece of bad filmmaking and poor artistic licence. If you ask me , Wong just has not enough to manage the scope of what Dragonball really is. He had the opportunity to induce new, fascinating characters to American cinema, unlike Yoda (it’s a puppet, after all): three eyed men, talking cats, an entire fantasy army with badass weaponry… God, if George Lucas wants a fat, tailed bastard on his movies, he just do it and people proceed to love the result…
…But suddenly, Dragonball must be forcefully adapted into Karate Kid but with B-movie-like special effects.
You can make the difference. You can get a better Dragonball, because the box office has the power of telling the industry how to do things properly. It happened with Ang Lee’s Hulk, it happened with Superman Returns.
Think about it.

I didn't like the trailer at all , but this trailer has mixed reactions like always , The only thing i like about the video is Picollo is Green !
